Brazil is not just among the 10 most biodiverse countries and one of the 12 mega-biodiverse regions in the world. It is a country with the most biodiversity on earth. Between the Amazon rainforest and the Mata Atlântica forest, the wooded, savannah-like Cerrado, the massive inland swamp known as the Pantanal, and a host of other terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, Brazil leads the world in plant and amphibian species.
